Launch MINI Electric – Cruise Terminal Rotterdam

Electrifying launch
At the beginning of July we were electrified at e.w.enture! At the beginning of July, the BMW Group presented its world-new MINI Electric in the Dutch port city of Rotterdam. In order to provide an adequate stage for this first, fully electric generation of the popular cult vehicle with a go-kart feeling, we created a sensational, 120-meter-long, 4-meter-wide circular track including a 30-meter-long banked curve in a hall of the “Cruise Terminals”. The construction work was competently in our hands.

Electrifying details
Not only the construction, but also the construction of the fast curve itself demanded a lot of experience and precision planning from our teams. Back home in Munich, we had already built up a number of different prototypes of the circular path for testing purposes. In addition, we had tinkered, researched and tested to find out the optimal surface covering. Ultimately, a tough, black PVC had turned out to be ideal. We then laminated the floor markings with SK film.

Electrifying curves
In Rotterdam we then put a hot banked curve on the parquet for the agile MINI. Their total length was around 30 meters. Before the final surface covering, we first layered chipboard and screen printing plates on the elaborate substructure. We were responsible for the substructure and the cladding of the five-meter-high, oversized, curved LED presentation wall. We also implemented the Board Member Office including the associated equipment and applied around 200 meters of digital printing film to the window facades of the terminal.
