mcbw public space – „Turning Point“ Art installation

Located on the large open space in front of the Alte Pinakothek in Munich’s art district, the installation “Turning Point” was designed by BLACKSPACE GmbH and executed by e.w.enture GmbH. The project centered around nature, transforming a 45-year-old mountain pine (Pinus mugo) into an iconic symbol. The tree nursery utilized its replanting cycle to showcase the tree in Munich. Experts prepared the tree over 14 days and oversaw its transport and installation. Visitors could interact with the installation via a crank, accompanied by light and sound effects. After the MCBW 2024, the pine was carefully replanted.
